Cookie Policy

Effective from 1 January 2026 · © 2026 LeanTools

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are used on the LeanTools platform, for what purpose, and how you can manage them. This policy is compliant with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and GDPR.

§ 1

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files (typically 4KB) stored on your device (computer, laptop, tablet) when you visit our platform. Cookies contain:

  • Session identifier — a unique code assigned to your session (e.g. "abc123xyz")
  • Preference data — e.g. selected language, theme (light/dark)
  • Timestamp — when the cookie was created and when it expires
  • Flags — whether cookies are required or optional (e.g. "_required=true")

Important: Cookies are inherently safe — they cannot contain malicious code or harm your computer. They are plain text data.

§ 2

Types of Cookies We Use

The LeanTools platform uses four main categories of cookies:

§ 3

How to Manage Cookies

3.1 Cookie Banner on the Website

On your first visit you will see a banner at the bottom of the page with the following options:

  • Accept all — enables all cookies (necessary + analytics + functional)
  • Reject optional — enables only strictly necessary cookies
  • Manage settings — allows you to choose individually which cookies to enable

You can change cookie settings at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

3.2 Browser Settings

You can also manage cookies directly in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data

You can also delete all cookies or choose which sites may store them.

3.3 Opting Out of GA4 Cookies

If you do not wish to be tracked by Google Analytics, you can:

Important: Disabling analytics cookies will not affect platform functionality — you will be able to work normally. We simply will not see data about your usage.
§ 4

Third-Party Cookies

The LeanTools platform uses services from providers that may store their own cookies:

We do not have full control over third-party cookies, but we guarantee that only those that are strictly necessary are enabled by default.

§ 5

Cookie Security

5.1 Security Attributes

All our cookies are transmitted with the following security attributes:

  • HttpOnly — not accessible to JavaScript (XSS protection)
  • Secure — transmitted only over HTTPS (encrypted)
  • SameSite — CSRF protection, cookies sent only to the same domain
5.2 Privacy

Cookies do not store:

  • Passwords (passwords are never sent in cookies)
  • Credit card data (handled by a secure payment gateway)
  • Personal data (names, addresses — unless in a session, which is temporary)
§ 6

Changes to the Cookie Policy

We may update this policy when:

  • We add new cookies (e.g. a new analytics tool)
  • We change providers (e.g. replace Google Analytics with another)
  • Legal requirements change

We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a banner on the website, with at least 30 days' notice.

§ 7
